COSMIC DISHARMONY
exhibition invitation !!!
HEYAAAA!!!
My show opens 29th November, my 35th birthday is 29th December, and my 6 years sober is 29th January !!! GOD WILLING.
I am very proud of what I have made and that I can make. Without family support or health there isn’t much at all. I am lucky to be alive after what I been through never mind stable. The fact I can work and think is a total miracle. Thanks to God and my friends who showed me how to live. I believe in art as work, that it can be revelatory. And I am so happy to have my body well enough to work. That said I am nervous about being back in the working class again after all these years. I just want to say, that I still have no steak in society. I still want to bring it all down. It’s not about selling out or not, what an insane idea to put at someones door at the threshold they discover basic stability and feel for the first time OK in their body and the world. It’s that I know that it collapsing is in my best interest and most peoples and I won’t forget it, and how could I when my family are in constant crisis. To the extent that I have no support, not a single family member is engaged in my life enough to share this win, to even acknowledge it, or any. I still dream of the day all the money disappears, the billionaires banks are empty, and all the grifters and capitalists burn out. I dream of a united working class. Until then, i’m committed to solidarity with the underclass from which I came, for full emancipation no exception. And to being publicly gay - because what else is the point of public life than to say or do things that straight people would find humiliating? (It was not a coincidence Oscar Wilde was the first celebrity). Lastly I’d like to thank the bisexuals who loved me since the beginning.
Exhibition: Dudley Dream Walsh, 'COSMIC DISHARMONY'
30th November 2024 - 1st March 2025
Opening Night Fri 29th Nov, 6-9pm
Two Queens is proud to present Dudley Dream Walsh's first UK exhibition of paintings ‘COSMIC DISHARMONY’. The show is a culmination of experiments made whilst a resident at the semi-mythical DIY artist residency, The Field, Derbyshire.
COSMIC DISHARMONY is an exhibition about devotion to existence in a world (or worlds) of dissonance and fragmentation. All positions are for equal consideration from hell to bliss — elemental, physical and astral. Through this work, the artist asks questions about nature, the entirety, and the edges - by mapping internal and external realms. Asking what’s beyond rationalism, beyond capitalism? And, can we have a new word for new? Paintings and drawings by Dudley explores ideas of survival, landlessness and worklessness. Unfolding through horizons, skies, and the view from the confines of a room - it could be a gallery, a prison cell, or a box room advertised on rightmove as a double.
The exhibition comes with a publication of the same name to be released at a later date- featuring writing and drawing by; CA Conrad, Penny Goring, Uma Breakdown, Alice Aster, Alyy Malik, Winter Beaumont, Grime, Rein Lo, and Dudley. Designed by Jake Kent.
This project is made possible by public funding from The National Lottery through Arts Council England.
